As agriculture is the major activity in Khanom District, the company has focused on adding value to agricultural activities, which will enable every family to have sufficient food and generate more income from selling excess produce. Under this project, Khanom Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. has taught the villagers to adopt organic farming. By not using chemical fertilizer, insecticide and pesticide, villagers have better health while the impact on the environment is lower. In addition, farm produce can be sold at higher prices. The Khanom Model (organic farming) has become a significant tool to help the villagers achieve sustainability.
