The offering of Lent candles is a tradition passed down through generations since ancient times. In the past, Buddhist monks did not have electricity, so villagers would light large candles to offer to the monks. These candles were used to provide light for their daily routines and as an act of homage to Buddha throughout the three-month Rains Retreat (Phansa). This tradition beautifully reflects the deep faith and bond between the community and Buddhism.
